Chevy Silverado Vs. Ford F150 Vs. Dodge Ram 1500: Engines

When it comes to horsepower and torque feature, Ford F150 is a clear winner. It is beating both of its rivals Silverado and RAM 1500 with a 450-hp engine. The hybrid F150 variant offers a highly impressive 570lb of torque and 430 hp of horsepower.123

That's cool, but how does the Ram 1500 truck compete with it?

Although Ram doesn't have a full-fledged hybrid, it comes with a medium-hybrid eTorque technology with 48volt. First, the 3.5 liter V6 accounts for 269lb of torque and 305hp. There is a 3-liter turbo-diesel V6 that delivers quite decent 480 lb of torque and 260hp. Further, the 5.7-liter capacity V8 with eTorque technology gives an impressive 410 lb of torque and 395 hp.

Coming to Silverado, there is no hybrid technology like its other two competitors. But it offers a smooth and highly efficient turbo-diesel engine with 3 liters of capacity, and it delivers 460lb of torque and 277 horsepower. The Silverado also has a 4.3 liter V6 that offers 305 lb of torque and 285 horsepower, a 5.3 liter V8 that delivers 383 lb of torque and 355 horsepower. Finally, a 6.2 liter V8 that gives 460 lb of torque and 420 horsepower.

Chevy Silverado Vs. Ford F150 Vs. Dodge Ram 1500: Towing

With its 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6, Ford F150 delivers the highest towing capacity for a light-duty and full-size pick-up truck; it is 14,000 in figures. The second place is secured by Silverado, which features a towing capacity of 13,300, a little bit less than F150. Ram secures the last position with 12,750 pounds of tow capacity when paired with a V8 of 5.7-liter. Most of the modern full-size light-duty pick-ups feature a great towing capacity.

Chevy Silverado Vs. Ford F150 Vs. Dodge Ram 1500: Payload

Similar in terms of towing capacity, the Ford F150 also outpaces its rivals in terms of payload. It has got a much better payload than both Silverado and Ram. It offers 3,325 pounds of payload when paired with its 5-liter capacity V8 engine. On the other side, Ram secures second place with 2,300 pounds of payload with 3.6 liters V6. Chevy Silverado comes at last with 2,280 pounds.

If you're looking for a great small size, light-duty pick-up, but with amazing capabilities, Ford Ranger is the best deal for you. It sports several excellent features that make it shine among its competitors. While a next-gen version of this truck has already been declared in Australia, the version we have in the US will keep shining in throughout 2021. The starting price is as low as $24,000, which is quite great for a branded mid-range truck in the USA. However, for a full-sized model, you'll have to pay around $37,000, which is again worth the amount.5
